Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; minimum of 5 years experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required. Ability to manipulate large sets of data. This job is more focused on higher level technical expertise, mentoring staff in lower job levels, more customer facing, higher level of collaboration, work is higher volume and/or higher risk, and modeling as compared to the Bus Info Analyst Sr job. Healthcare experience required. Must be proficient in Excel, Access and SQL. SAS is a plus. Experience with WGS or claims systems is preferred.
Business analysis experience in an health plan setting involving the operational and clinical information programs strongly preferred and in-depth working knowledge and experience in medical information technology and applications within health plans.
Analytical: Must possess strong data analysis skills in order to develop innovative informatics. Must be able to analyze and assess needs quickly and accurately relative to reporting and business metrics.
Leadership: Proven experience with project coordination in a leadership role. Able to define and create structure in an unstructured project setting. Performed team-lead role in a combined business operations and technical / technology setting. Must have demonstrated capabilities in delivering results based upon generally-stated requirements and directions. Can assess a situation to determine what is needed and to document and execute based upon their own assessment.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to provide technical, operational and educational guidance to managers and peers. Must be able to communicate effectively the capabilities and limitations of information technologies related to project assignments, data analysis and reporting.
