Director, Pharmacy and Medical Metrics Development
Partners with stakeholders. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Manages the strategy and roadmap for the analytic assets and applications currently in use or to be developed for the clients. Responsible for the translation of business needs into application software requirements. Provides ongoing, active interface between client/user community and the IT/Development organization. Maintains ongoing formal communications and status reporting of solution suite team progress. Responsible for prioritizing and budgeting of proposed major development efforts for submission to Operating Council for approval. Participates on Information Management steering committee. Responsible for the coordination and ongoing planning with other solution suite teams, data warehouse and IT/Development teams.
The Director IM Solution Suite role within the Population Health Management (PHM) team includes the following critical responsibilities:
The Director will create and maintain an IM roadmap to guide the creation of a decision support infrastructure for WellPoints Pharmacy Solutions Group (PSG). This infrastructure will enable PSG to efficiently deliver on its cost of care and other commitments, and will tie program design and analytic asset requirements together to help our customers work smarter. The Director will also create the Rx business analytic asset requirements that ultimately will guide how IT resources are deployed to Rx analytical infrastructure projects. This role is very strategic and includes advising WLP Senior Management and other internal clients on market trends and data-driven opportunities.
The Director will also support WellPoints Client Advisor Services (CAS) group by determining how to best represent the value of our clinical programs to external customers. The Director will define standard client reporting requirements, including the integration of vendor analytical tools with standard reporting applications. This role will also integrate medical, pharmacy, and care management metrics and create a unified approach to demonstrating positive return from WellPoints population health management programs. Again, the Director will have an important strategic role here, in that he or she will help define significant components of WellPoints value story and actively participate in building relationships with key clients
The Director will own metric development for clinical program evaluation within the PHM team and support analytical staff in WellPoint business units in their efforts to measure the impact of member interventions. In addition, the Director will have a significant role in data governance. This role will also serve as an SME for formulary and Rx benefit design, and will work closely with actuarial and outcomes analysts in other parts of the business.
This will be a strong client facing role, with significant travel at times.
